Irene
Has anyone ever tried freezing them? I have already made a large batch of chutney and jam, but there are still lots to be picked. Seems a pity to let them go to waste!
-pops-
Cook them first. They go revoltingly mushy and brown if you just bung them in the freezer. How about making wine with them?
Irene
How about making wine with them? Unfortunately we don't have any wine making equipment, -pops-. We do love the jam & chutney though, which is why I thought I would try to 'preserve' the fruit for use later.
-pops-
I should have written cook first before freezing.
Irene
Cook them first. I should have written cook first before freezing. You did ;) , and I will. I think I will 'stew' them in 3lb batches and remove as many stones as I can locate. Then I will put them in to freezer bags and pray...
