Alan2273 Posted October 18, 2013 Report Share Posted October 18, 2013 If you have just upgraded to 8.1 and want to go straight to the desktop, bypassing the Metro interface, this is how. Click on the Desktop tile, right-click anywhere on the Windows 8.1 taskbar, select Properties, and click on the Navigation tab.Next, check the box labeled "Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in," which can be found under the Start screen options. If you want to resize the tiles here is how to. A right-click, or long press, on a specific tile will give you the ability to unpin it from the screen, uninstall the program, resize it, or turn the Live Tile off.
