TheCitizen
Hi, Sorry for asking here but there is not a single useful information in Windows' official FAQ and if there is some live support, its very well hidden. Blah! Anyway, my concern is:I bought a laptop like 2? years ago with pre-installed Windows 7. After some time I bought upgrade to Windows 8 when it was for like 20$ and I was using it ever since. When I went from 7 to 8, I surely remember I had the clean instalation even though I didn't have any installation CD - it was part of the downloaded installation. My question is - can I do the same now that Im getting 8.1? Or do I have to get some CD/installation files? And if so, where can I get these Windows install files which I could use for the re-installation? Thanks a lot for any answers!
-pops-
Does this help? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/update-from-windows-8-tutorial Windows 8.1 is a relatively small size downloadable upgrade.
Alan2273
When you go from Win 8 to 8.1, it is done from the Windows app store, so you do not need any CD/DVD to perform this action.
