My windows wont start!! minimal services

Hey guys

Im having a problem starting my computer!

I had a unrelated issue I was trying to resolve where I found some instructions to boot my computer in safe mode "minimal service" mode selected when you type msconfig in run.

Ever since I did this and restarted my computer I cannot start the computer. It starts up and gets the screen saying starting windows the flicks over to saying windows is shutting down. It the restarts then the same thing happens. I left it for 5 mintes and watched the cycle repeat over and over again.

How do I stop this!!!! I somehow need to untick this box so my computer dowsnt start with minimal services. Any suggestions is welcomed. I need y computer for uni work and it's preventing it at the moment.

I have tried pushinhg f8 and choosing safe mode to start but same thing happens

I have the cd and went to repair settings and no luck on system restore or anytthing. I can get the command prompt up. Can I type something to change the settings back and not attempt to start in minimal service mode?

System Restore allows you to undo changes to your computer, such as software updates or driver installations, which might cause your computer to run slowly or not work properly. You can start System Restore from a command prompt window if you cannot start your computer in any mode other than Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

You need to have an administrator account to perform these steps.

1. Start your computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt. To learn how to do this, see Start your computer in safe mode.

2. Log on to the computer.

3. At the command prompt, type rstrui.exe and then press Enter.

• If you use System Restore when the computer is in safe mode, you cannot undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point, if one exists.

thanks for your reply. I am not too sure but my computer does not have any restore points. This means I can't restore to any point. :(

Do you know this because you have tried following the instructions in the link?

You could also try sfc /scannow, (there is a space between the sfc and the / ).

I found some instructions to boot my computer in safe mode "minimal service" mode selected when you type msconfig in run.

That is not the correct way to start Safe Mode; use the F8 button before Windows starts to either go into Safe Mode, or directly boot into Last Known Good Configuration.
