The motherboard can only register so much.I think you have singled sided RAM where-as newer RAM is double sided.You have an old (ish) computer? Printed as 128mb and registers as 128mbStrangley, the new stick is one sided with 8 slabs (identical in every way - except it is print stickered as 256mb) and this registers as 128The shop is looking for second hand 512 so I get my requested 256!!I can undo cover, know about ESD, and can slot RAM in and out.
