How to Export your Internet Explorer Favorites

If want to keep all of your Internet Explorer Favorites, you might want to think about backing them up. So if you ever lose them you can always call upon your backup, so you can still visit all of your favorite websites.

At the top of the Internet Explorer, click File and then click Import and Export...

This will then open the Import/Export Wizard

Click Next (see pic below)

Now on the left make sure Export Favorites is highlighted.

Then click Next (see pic below)

Now you can choose which Favorites you wish to export. If you want to export all of your Favorites make sure Favorites is higlighted (by default it will be highlighted) If you want to export a folder within your Favorites then just click the folder.

Then click Next (see pic below)

The Favourites will be exported to the default location, however if you wish to change where the Favourites will be exported to, then just click Browse and choose your location.

Then click Next (see pic below)

Click Finish and your Favourites will be exported. (see pic below)

If your Favorites have been exported successfully then you will see a message box telling you it was successful (see pic below)

The name of the file that your Favourites is given is, bookmark.html

Copy and Paste the Favorites Folder

For Windows 9x users the favorites folder can be found at: C:\WINDOWS\Favorites

For Windows XP users the favorites folder can be found at: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Favorites

You can copy the Favorites folder and paste it to a floppy disc or you could even burn the folder to a CD.
