Guest ellas
apparently theres a lot of fake amd cpus going around, this site tells you how to check http://www.over-clock.com/fakecpu.shtml
monkeyhanger
Well worth inspecting any new chip if these are floating around. It looks as if a lower spec cpu has been overclocked or unlocked. :o
-pops-
Interesting!Do these fake items work, I wonder? If they do, it must be the most technologically advanced forgery ever to be undertaken. The equipment and know-how necessary to produce even a simple transistor is extraordinarily complex - imagine the knowledge, expertise and production facilities needed to produce something like a CPU with, what, 3,000,000 semiconductors in it

The ability to re badge the chip must be complicated, and to produce a dummy chip the cost must be prohibitive against a new one.If these are dummy, unusable chips. Then someone has gone to a lot of trouble for the sake of what, £60 a unit?
