AlanHo
Can't help. I am suspicious of downloading files from unknown sources. I suggest you get your friend to demonstrate it on his own computer.

Thanks To solve the mtfserver.dll file's problems, check if the system files are intact as a first step. System File Checker (SFC.exe) is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash. To scan all system files, open a command prompt as an administrator and type: sfc /scannow This command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at System32\dllcache. RonPeters
Run SFC (System File Checker) to restore the corrupt or missing MTFServer.DLL file. System File Checker is a utility included with every Windows version that allows you scan and restore corrupted system files. Use the SFC tool to fix missing or corrupt MTFServer.DLL files Hit the Windows Start button In the search box, type "cmd" but DO NOT PRESS "ENTER". Press and hold "CTRL-Shift" on your keyboard while pressing "ENTER". You'll be prompted with a permission dialog box. In the box, click "YES". You should have a black screen with a blinking cursor. In that black screen, type "sfc /scannow" and hit "ENTER". SFC will begin scanning for MTFServer.DLL issues and any other system file problems. Follow any on-screen commands to complete the process. Hope this helps!

Thanks Hello shane, Mtfserver.dll is missing is a reasonably typical error on Windows. The most common occurrence of the problem is the installation of a Windows update and a failed installation of some programs. When a missing file notification appears, download mtfserver.dll from an official site, like the DLL Kit website, where there are no threats or viruses. If the “mtfserver.dll is missing” error occurs, you may use one of the methods below to fix the issue, Press the Windows logo + R key to open the Run command Type cmd and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open a command prompt with Administrator rights When prompted, allow the command line to make changes and click Yes. Now, type the below command, regsvr32 /u mtfserver.dll and hit Enter Then, register the file: type command regsvr32 mtfserver.dll and hit Enter. Lastly, close the command line and run the application. Re-install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015: Firstly, download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from the Microsoft site. Now, select the file: vc_redist.x64.exe for 64-bit. Open the file, click Next on the Terms and Install it. It will install the missing files correctly. Run SFC (System File Checker) scan command: The SFC scan command is the fastest way to fix corrupt system files automatically. To run the SFC command, follow the steps below: First, click the Start menu. Type cmd, right-click the term Command Prompt, and then click on Run as administrator. Then, type the command sfc /scannow and hit Enter. System File Checker scans your PC and lists out the corrupted files that need to be fixed automatically by the SFC command. Update Windows to the latest software: From the start menu, Navigate to Settings or simply press the windows logo+I key Go to Updates & Security Under the Windows Update tab, click on Check for updates. Now, Install the latest update of software if available. Lastly, Restart the PC. I hope the above-given fixes help you to resolve the mtfserver.dll error issue without any problem. ---------------------- Regards, Rex M
