Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98 or Windows 95 Users...

With the Tweak UI 1.33 update, you can adjust your Windows User Interface, including menu speed, window animation, and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The Microsoft® Windows® Shell Development Team has put together a set of productivity tools called PowerToys. If you're a Windows power-user, go ahead and try them out, but realize these are unsupported tools. Microsoft Technical Support is unable to answer questions about PowerToys.

Tweak UI 1.33 can be downloaded by clicking here.

To install Tweak UI 1.33 double click the file tweakui.

Now click Unzip (see pic below)

If successful 4 files should have been unzipped. (see pic below)

Now to install TweakUI (you have not actually installed Tweak UI yet) find the 4 files that you just unzipped. If you unzipped to C:\windows\TEMP then simply go to this folder. Now find a file named tweakui (it should have a file exstenison of - INF). Now, Right click this file and then click Install (see pic below)

Tweak UI should now start to install and during this install a window will pop up, read the information and then click the X in the top right hand corner. This will then continue the install...(see pic below)

Tweak UI is now installed and to use Tweak UI click Start, Settings, Control Panel and double click the icon Tweak UI. (see pic below)

You can also start Tweak UI by clicking Start, Run and type: tweakui.cpl and then click OK

A setting to increase the menu speed can bee seen when you first open Tweak UI. Move the slider along to Fast, should see the menus in Windows appear faster than they were doing. There are many improvements to be made with Windows by using Tweak UI and I could not possibly go through each one. (see pic below)

Windows XP Users...

They're back! PowerToys are additional programs that developers work on after a product has been released to manufacturing. They add fun and functionality to the Windows experience.

Note We've taken great care to ensure that PowerToys operate as they should, but they are not part of Windows and are not supported by Microsoft. For this reason, Microsoft Technical Support is unable to answer questions about PowerToys. PowerToys are for Windows XP only.

Tweak UI can be downloaded by clicking here
