doug
Puzzled. I upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro a few days ago with very little trouble. I've now found a snag. I am just about to try and burn a CD by first recording the audio via the line in port using the nero wave editor. Although the sound is coming out of the pc speakers the volume levels are not working. Previously I could adjust the sound recording level using the output levels from the audio system, there isn't a line output function available but this method worked fine with 98. I have checked device manager and the are no conflicts or queries. There is nothing muted in the volume controls. The audio is a C-media on-board chip. Sliding the micro button up and down does adjust the output volume. I'm very puzzled. Please talk me through it someone.
doug
Solved it folks. I had to activate the mic input in the C-media mixer package. Thanks for bearing with me.
