GNER has introduced the country's first mobile Wi-Fi network on board its trains

The train is fitted with a satellite dish on top of its restaurant carriage. This connects to the internet through a range of different networks (including satellite and GPRS) and then distributes the bandwidth throughout the train. Connecting in this way means that if one connection goes down, another automatically replaces it, which allows for a constant connection even at speeds in excess of 100mph

Ive just come back from south Wales this morning . Points failure at Swindon meant we got stuck at Bristol Parkway,then had to reverse and do the Bath loop in order to get around it .

Its rare that I travel on this GWR line , and get there direct, with no problems . I also missed the connection at Cardiff central , as the valley line got stuck in a train jam with four trains at each half mile light waiting their turn to get into Cardiff Queens from the Valleys .

Good job I was not in a rush .

Last week coming home from central London there were 2 signal failures giving rise to long waits .........

The whole system seems to be reaching a point of total collapse ..

Wifi would be good , just to send off complaints to the H.O while you are sitting there stuck on a train , in the middle of nowhere .

you could probably complete a whole online game in the time it takes to travel to wales from london!!
