Scarthy © ® ™ Posted February 2, 2003 Report Share Posted February 2, 2003 Hi all, :D For anyone who uses this great "bit of kit" there is a new version available from Clony XXL HomepageThere is also a great Clone CD Profiler that links your findings directly to Clone CD 4...Installation instructions - These files do not need to install, the file is unzipped to say "C:/Program Files/ClonyXXL" and then one makes shortcut to them.Both programs are German by default, but do have a checkbox for English within them.The latest versions are...Clony XXL 2.0.1.3a and CloneCD4 Profiler 1.1. ;) ;) ;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boris Posted May 1, 2003 Report Share Posted May 1, 2003 so what does this cloney thing do then folks?is it free?Clony XXL and CloneCD4 Profiler are both freeware.If you want to copy a copy protected CD (as a backup) Clony will identify which of the many protection methods it uses. CloneCD Profiler will then identify the appropriate read/write settings so that you can then copy it using CloneCD 4.I don't use them - as I haven't got a CD/RW but everyone I know who does raves over it. :D :D :D The bad news is that the full Clone CD4 isn't free ! The shareware version restricts you to the slowest recording speed, which is reasonably fast - (but the full version is cheap enough (if you're a speed freak !))CloneCD does not work with all CD Writers. It only supports those that can read subchannel, or hidden, data on a disc. In other words, it won't work with writers that cannot read disks that are copy-protected. The program writes in RAW mode, so you have full control over the output.
