Help! Recover the hard drive.

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have encountered an unpleasant event. My external hard drive has stopped working. The disc is no longer readable . When I connect the disc to my computer, the system asks me to format it.

There are very important files on the disc.photo_2024-01-09_12-00-32.jpg

Does anyone know how to help me?

Have you tried the following ?

a) Connect the Ext H/D to another USB port on the PC

b) Connect the Ext H/D to another PC

If this doesn't fix it, see a possible solution at Method 1 here :- https://www.diskpart.com/articles/my-external-hard-drive-says-it-needs-to-be-formatted-7201.html#:~:text=▌Method 1.,-Use CHKDSK to&text=Step 2.,normal after restarting your computer

I got the disc in RAW format.
I formatted the disc.
I scanned the disc with a recovery tool, but it sees only a small part of the data that was on the disc.
Is there any way to improve the result?

I managed to recover most of the files.

I came across this video on YouTube.

Hetman Partition Recovery was able to recover 90% of the data from the disc. This is probably the best result so far. Overall, I'm satisfied because I managed to recover most of the data for little money. Thank you all for your help)
