Guest Reginald0
Hi, folks! Is it possible to have two default gateways configured on Windows 95/98/Me machines, and in case that the first stop to respond, the second begins to work automatically? I already try just to add the IPs on the network control panel, but didn't work. If somebody knows some other trick to do that, please help me. Thanks,Reginaldo O. Agent Smith
Hello Reginald0, if you go into your tcp/ip settings (right click on network neighborhood, select properties then double click on the tcp/ip listing for your network card) and select the "gateway" tab. You can then type the gateway address into the box and click add, then type the next gateway address and click on add again. You can also do this for DNS and WINS.Hope this info helps. Regards, Mr. Mouse.
Agent Smith
Sorry, I have just reread your question. As far as I know, it is only possible to have one "Default", but you can have alternate gateways which will be used in the order they appear in the list, if the default is unavailable.Mr. M.
