Kirbster
HI All,I'm about to go abroad for 5 months and am going to buy a Digital Camcorder in Tax Free at the airport. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best ones to buy, I know there are various types, my brother had a mini-dv camcorder, but I notice there are new ones out now, what's all this about digital zoom? Is it important? If you've got a camcorder which one would you suggest I buy, I've read most of the reviews,I'm looking for a smallish, easy to use camcorder with fairly high spec, prepared to pay up to about £400 ish in tax free. Any ideas?
expertec
The digital zoom is not so important, it's the optical zoom that matters (I think)

Guest northamuk
Don't confuse the Tax Free shops in the UK Airports with lower profit margins.Check out the prices, online, of camcorders that you might be interested in, if these prices are not, at the very least, 17.5% less at the "tax free" shop, you are NOT getting a bargain. Tankus
"tax free" shop, you are NOT getting a bargainDead right Choose a model ...do the research before you go abroad then check out the the price there when you get therePS "Tax free shops " usually have v. high unit rentals ... they've gotta claw the money back from somewhere ...!
