doug Posted February 15, 2004 Report Share Posted February 15, 2004 After all my recent turmoil I think I've got PSP working properly, in that I've been able to access the help file and the jasc on-line tutorial and am about to produce a replacement for the training route on my website. I've got the blurred map and can create layers. I've tried tracing a couple of the tracks but they are very jagged. My question is Should I generate these using a high screen resolution and the delete the background, merge the layers and the size the image for copying. Continuing on this line can I save the layers separately or will they save as a package so I wont have to try and adjust the sizes each time I work on it? I'm sure most of my questions are answerer in the help files but it's a question of where to find them and until I'm a bit further on with the package I don't know what I don't know - if you see what I mean. -pops- Posted February 16, 2004 Report Share Posted February 16, 2004 Not sure I understand what you're wanting to do but, I don't feel that the screen resolution on your machine will make any difference to the information (clarity) in your file, just the way that you see it on screen. doug Posted February 16, 2004 Author Report Share Posted February 16, 2004 The problem is that any lines I draw that are not vertical or horizontal appear to have jagged edges, i.e. the edges are pixel lated. I'm wondering what would be the best way of drawing. would a high resolution reduce the effect so when the vector drawing is merged/saved I would get the smoothest result. Anyone with a different resolution will see it differently.I think you must increase the amount of information in the file i.e. more detail, ergo smaller pixels, ergo larger file size. That of course means an adverse effect on the download time.What format is the picture in? If a JPG, try doing it as a GIF or BMP instead.
