ErMa Posted March 3, 2004 Report Share Posted March 3, 2004 Hi all,I installed W2K3 on a Netserver LH4 2x PIII Xeon 500Mhz 1Gb RAM.Every time when I shut down (or reboot) the server, I get some error messages :WINDOWS - Delayed write failedWindows was unable to save all the data for the file ....And this for some files.I try to disable the cache on the integrated RAID adapter but no way :( .Any ideas ?Thank you in advance for your help, ErMa Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Agent Smith Posted March 4, 2004 Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Hello ErMa, and welcome to the Forum.As Sir Rad states, you will need to check your event log for any clues as to this problem. However, my hunch is that this is a cache closing issue. I don't think it is the cache on your raid adapter, but possibly the cache as in the paging file. Is it manually set? or running on windows default?Do you get this fault every time, or only when the machine has been running for a while? Also what happens if you "log off" the user prior to commencing a shut down procedure?Yoy may wish to have a quick read of theseKB Article 818408KB Article 321733Please post back with some more info.Regards. Agent Smith Posted March 4, 2004 Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Hi again ErMa,bit of a long shot this, but have you enabled the Remote Registry Service, if not try doing so and see what happens.Are your event logs reporting other events? Or is it possible the log has become corrupted or somehow made read only?Has this problem occured since install, or just recently?Is it worth you setting up a Parallel Installation, to see if the problem is hardware / software / driver related or just a glitch in your current setup? ErMa Posted March 4, 2004 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Hi Mr. M.,I found the solution of this problem :D :after the complete new install of W2k3 on the Netserver, I installed the Netraid Monitor and the NetRaid Assistant for Windows 2003.The problem was : the Microsoft W2K3 driver (mraid35x.dll) for the integrated HP NetRaid is incompatible with the NetRaid Assistant for W2K3.
