pop3 & smtp

Recommended Posts

I have been using Firefox for a few weeks now and decided to have a look at Thunderbird for the E-Mail, but I can`t remember how to access the box that has the POP3 & SMTP settings, as T-Bird is asking me for these settings.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards Alan.

I followed the walkthrough that Nell provided and used the settings from Redhats post and it still refuses to work and now to add insult to injury it is not in the all programmes or the add & remove list so I cannot uninstall it.

Anyone any ideas how to get rid of it apart from a registry hack?

I've managed to set it up - I like it as an email client (especially the filtering for junk). What Email are you using at the moment?

In theory you can import the settings (though you have to manually enter the passwords) from OE by going to Tools | Import in Thunderbird. However, I couldn't get this to work, but I could import them from Outlook.

What error are you getting? Are you copying the server name from OE, (or whatever) or are you getting them from the information from the ISP when you first joined?
