It makes me feel really sick inside when I see the damned creatures leaping up onto work surfaces in the kitchen, and walking heaven knows what filth, germs and disease onto the surface. At least you can keep a dog under control, and take it to where you want it to go. Cats come and go as they please, bringing back other cats fleas and diseases. They have been known to leap into baby's prams and smother the baby. They dig holes in other peoples gardens and crap there, have you ever been putting out bedding plants and found such a treat, I HAVE, and it isn't nice. Cats are disgusting creatures that are never completely YOUR pet like a dog is. I know that there are badly behaved dogs about, but that is down to bad owners. You mean to say it's never jumped up onto the kitchen work tops? No offence meant, I just consider that they are anti social undomesticated creatures, with a very strong will of their own.
