Hi ;) ,

Here's a few handy registry tweaks for XP...

1 - To change the "provided by Microsoft" banner to your own personalised version in IE6/OE alter the following keys...

IE - HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - Micro$oft - Internet Explorer - Main

OE - HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Identities - {A3F...} - Software - Micro$oft - Outlook Express - 5.0

Look for the "provided by" link in the right pane and alter it to what you want...see image posted.

2 - To speed up the Start Menu. ie When you hover over links within it etc...Alter the following key...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Control Panel - Desktop

In the right pane, look for "MenuShowDelay". It is set to 400 by default. Anything less will increase the speed. 200 will have a noticable improvement. I have mine set to 100.

To alter keys right click them and select 'Modify'.

As always Please be careful when tweaking the registry

If you click the "Main" key once with the left button for IE6. The list of keys appears in the right pane. The one you want to look for is called "Window Title", it is near the bottom of the list.

This should say something like "Microsoft Internet Explorer" or "MS IE provided by xxx". You can pretty much put what you want here...Just right click "Window Title" and click "modify"

In OE you click the 5.0 link as above and find the "Window Title" key in the right pane. Again it should say either "Outlook Express" or "Outlook Express provided by xxx".

Hope this helps ;)

...You may have to restart for these changes to take place. ;)
