Andy-2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Share Posted April 27, 2004 Apon a clean install of XP...for the last few days i have been logging on as adminastrator...but today i logged on as ANDY but all my files were not there...so now i have reason to believe that Andy and Adminastrator are different accounts...so i enabled the log on screen rather than the command prompt thingie and i was no longer able to log on as admin...is there any way round this or will i have to move all my files and become a user rather than an admin? When you did the install, did you create the "Andy" account?What actually happens when you try to log on as administrator?Also, when logged on as Andy, if you go into windows explorer, you should be able to see a directory called "documents and settings", if you open that, you will see a directory for all the accounts on the machine. If Andy has the correct rights, he will be able to see the files in the administrator directory, which is where your files will be.Mr. M. But you would have to do that deliberately.Mr. M.Well thanks MR M that seem to have cleared stuff up for me.....P.s : this isnt work a new topic: can any type of cable ties be used to tie up wires inside computers or do they have to be sepcial ones that dont melt or somthing?
