I have just reformatted and installed Xp professional. It installed fine but when it gets to loading up the account (only was one so it automatically goes into it) my monitor goes into standby and wont come off it leaving me no idea what is happening. Is there anyway i could fix this?

is your monitor plug and play or do you need to load its own drivers.

i had this problem recently when i set up a comp with my monitor, it just

loaded with a black screen when i took it back. i had to reload drivers off a floppy disc supplied with the comp, the monitor was a samsung i think.

you can also check the refresh rate in safe mode, also when you tried it on the other monitor where the graphics ok. ie- not just on min 256 colours.
