doug Posted May 8, 2004 Report Share Posted May 8, 2004 She rang tonight to say she was about to load XP Pro over Win 8. For the life of me I can't remember the procedure that I used when I did the upgrade. I told her to hold her horses and backup everything first and not to use the 98 backup. So she's diligently copying to floppies and some has lent her a CD burner. Now my question is, when loading the XP disc doesn't it do a check for hardware and software compatibility first? christmascracker Posted May 8, 2004 Report Share Posted May 8, 2004 Tell your friend to pop the XP cd in and click on system compatibility then check my system automatically and it will tell her what, if anything might cause problems.
