Alice in Wonderland

Our guardians of decency and rectitude, sometimes called government, or leaders (and often referred to by other more correct names) are hell bent on bringing to this septic isle the largest racist gathering that is ever held anywhere on Earth. I refer, of course, to the Olympic games. In it's Greek origins it was not an international competition but a competition for individual athletes. They did not wear a 'suit' advertising their origins. In fact they competed in the 'altogether'. (Imagine Linford's lunchbox then!) Now the most important thing is the number of Gold (and other) medals that a country can obtain. For the last seventy years (at least) every government in the world has tried to use the games as a propaganda, supremacy showcase. In addition each one has poured millions of pounds into the training of its athletes to this end. At every "medal cermony" National Anthems are played and the medal winners salute their national anthems. If this is not governmental sponsered racism then I do not know what is.

But...We also have vast sums of money poured into quangos "to stamp out racism". We even staff most of these quangos with those of other races just to prove how sincere we are!!! Even those who would keep Britain 'British' are labelled racist. Even by my including the initials BNP in this post I shall probably get a vist from the heavies!

The lunatics have already taken over the asylum. Should we include an award in the games for the most racially inspired team? Or do we know this already?

(Granted in the Olympic games there are jumpists [up and on], swimmists, throwists, hittists, etc. in addition to racists but that is another consideration altogether!)

The only thing that spoils it for me is drugs ...

The drug aspect has always puzzled me. They are banned because they are "performance enhancing", however the use of elastic bandages, strappings, breathing aids, fancy lycra clothing, skin tight swimming sharkskin and shaven heads, all used for ther same "performance enhancing", are allowed. The argument about long term damage to the user is the same in both case. Look how many athletes are "just coming back from injury" or who retire with arthritis etc.

There should be a 'mental' equivalent...

I looked forward to the inclusion of sedentary events like the Long Stand, the High Stand, the Cross Country Stand, the 400metres Relay Stand, Formation Standing or even Mixed Doubles Standing.
