There is a one month trial of the paid up Outpost and then a 25% discount coupon to buy a year's worth of Outpost protection (£39·99) then 50% annual renewal fee.It appears that the 25% migration discount is only available from the .com site and not the .uk one and - guess what? The .com site is down and has been since the weekend.Not impressed, and not happy at the prospect of paying an annual fee*, I'm looking for another free firewall. I know there are a number of them, what is the recommendation of the forum?N.B. I tried Zonealarm a long time ago and couldn't get it working properly so I don't think I'm in the market (even the free market) for that one.*I did pay for AVG 7 A/V but that is a one off for a large number of years protection. I don't like having to pay for these things if not necessary and I didn't like the approach made by Agnitum in forcing me to change. The fact that their website has been duff for several day put me off even further.I've removed Outpost from one machine and installed Sygate. Redhat Posted May 25, 2004 Report Share Posted May 25, 2004 I'd strongly suggest using KERIO 2.1.5, the 4 version is slightly bloated IMO. Firewall's are really about personal choice. I've used Outpost for many years and recommended it to everyone I've built machines for and more besides.Regarding bloat, the machine that I intend putting Kerio on has 120 + 80 + 40GB hard drives so there's plenty of room.
