fragged one Posted May 27, 2004 Report Share Posted May 27, 2004 this has been pretty quiet in the media, but there is great suspicion, and supposed evidence, that iraq's alleged wmd's were moved to syria (specifically lebanon) before the war.okay, here's a hypothetical, that doesn't seem too far-fetched...if we find proof that syria is holding the weapons, and syria refuses to give them up, would you support an invasion of syria?why or why not? Guest Drovers Dog Posted May 28, 2004 Report Share Posted May 28, 2004 :P You know fragged one, there is so much not passed on to Americans, and Poms!In the early parts of the Invasion, and that it was what it realy was, of Iraq, there was concern that the WOMD would be loaded onto Ships, and moved that way! The Aussie Navy was used to ensure that that diddn't happen! It diddn't happen!There was a concern about Iraq's Air Force, Aussies were sent in, 50 MIG's were captured! One is on it's way back here as a Trophy!(BTW the ones involveld have recieved Medals, but can not be presented with them in Public, because they are SAS, (Special Air Services, bit like a better version of US Rangers, or maybe British Marines?, just to help their Families, they can not be named, nor identified, because they are so Specialised!)So much of the Conflict is so unsaid, just like ALL Wars! :censored: :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Your SAS is run on very similar lines to our SAS and they often work together.Several of your guys and ours were awarded medals of quite a high order both in Iraq and Afghanistan but as you say their names will not be mentioned.I know two of them personally. Tankus Posted May 28, 2004 Report Share Posted May 28, 2004 Iraq's had the most surveillance on it out of any country in the last decade ...Regular bombing missions had gone on since the first gulf war ...If WMDS are found in Syria I think this time the US would go to the UN and push for a resolution ......But by then I think that Israel would have already reacted and it would be a done and dusted ... djohn Posted May 28, 2004 Report Share Posted May 28, 2004 I have many framed photo's of my son on the walls round our lounge, just been looking at one taken some years back just after finishing his 12 months training and posted to his battalion.There are several junior and senior NCO's in the photo that had served for many years and have only 1 or 2 campain medals on their uniform. In the past three years my son along with many others in our forces have more than doubled this amount.My son now has 5 campaign medals and 2 gallantry medals, all presented within the past two years. The soldiers that fight in wars no matter what regiment deserve all our respects. If we had some decent leaders then the troops would be alot safer and tere would be alot less wars.
