Chris
OK, I was thinking Firefox has a nice feature that when opened it will open your homepage in a tab. Nothing great about that, but you can make firefox open several pages when you first open it. So you double click it's icon and you can have several web pages appear in several tabs. The homepage is not necessarily one page but as many as you set...Now in MS Internet Explorer you cannot really do this. You would have to open an Internet Explorer each time depending upon how many websites you wanted to view. Now it is possible to create a batch file that will open up two or more Internet Explorer's that will load a website of your choice. To do this:Open NotepadOr Right Click on your Desktop, New, Text Document.Copy and paste the following into the text document:START "" "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.windowsforum.orgSTART "" "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.bbc.co.ukSTART "" "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.itv.comCLSEXITNow go to File, Save As and save the file as example.bat You can name it anything you want but you must include the .bat extension. When you save it you should see a new file appear on your desktop. Double click this and 3 Internet Explorer's will open loading your sites.Obviously change the websites that you want to open.I've includeed the Text document and the batch file for you to see in the attachement below. You can edit the text document and you can also edit the batch file [right click , edit] which will open in a text document.Create A ShortcutYou may not like the icon that the batch file carries with it and you cannot change it. To work around this, Right Click on the Desktop, New, Shortcut and point it towards the batch file and give the shortcut a name. Now to change it's icon, Right Click the Shortcut and choose Properties.Click Change Icon... and choose your Icon. Click OK and your batch file will have it's custom icon and when you double click, it will open your websites in seperate Internet Explorer's.Note: Don't try and have too many Internet Explorer's trying to open and as each will be accessing the Internet at the sametime web pages make take a little time to load. Just experiment to what is acceptable to you.Enjoy!
