Well Craig, I thought it was me what done it. I was just browsing the site and had finished typing me long rant and hit post response, waited ages for it to load to the error screen before trying the refresh the page and re-enter my garabaged thoughts again. Of course I never got to.

I'm glad you owned up then. It means the system didn't collapse under the groaning weight of yet another post from Spook Tooth.

Ordep, couldn't find the FE's explanation - do you have another link to it? I'm just being nosey and want to know what went wrong that arvo.

PS - on checking the bottles, I found I had drunk not just the 500ml vodka but a worrying chunk of my Pernod. No wonder I still feel shakey, even today. :P That'll learn me.

Poppy,

in response to your question, PCA is Personal Computer Advisor (www.pcadvisor.co.uk) a fairly major PC publication and website that runs a helproom forum and a consumer forum. The majority of users of this forum came from the PCA forums after being rather shabbily treated by certain members of the establishment regarding their now defunct Gamesroom forum.

I don't post alot here, but i am always logging in and seeing what is happening and the atmosphere here is much more relaxed and friendly with none of the backbiting that often seemed to happen over at PCA.

I feel that craig deserves a great big slap (on the back) for creating a great forum that can only go from strength to strength and the more that certain other sites "go down" and more users visit here the better

Thanks Ordep sir. Just looking for any developments in the usual slanging mutually accusatory match style. Bit sad that the atmosphere is so awkward at times - feel I have to craft my words very carefully at times... well, most if not all the time.

'External' offsite problem not PCA's fault? Time to pay their ISP maybe...

Now, now, how many times have we been told that what PCA do with their money is none of our business... ;-)

(To be fair PCA's a good site and I've learnt a lot there, it's just if you mention p2p. copyright etc. you get jumped on by half the forum. It is nice to be able to correct my bad spelling on posts though)
