Two unexplained problems

Recommended Posts

1. Sometimes (seems to be after switching users, and switching back) when I do a mouseover on the icons on my taskbar, the tooltip is displayed under the taskbar.

2. Why is it that when I click arrange icons by name on my desktop, they are arranged by name, but they go from a-z and then from a-z again, starting a new set of sorting.

Example, Nero then WS_FTP then Ad-aware then AVG

kinda strange happenings, wonderd if anyone has a fix, or has seen this before.

A temporary solution that i once used is simple:

Remove the taskbar option: Always on Top (Apply setting)

ReAdd the taskbaroption: Always on Top (Apply setting and OK)

This made the problem go away on my XP Pro SP-1.

No guaranties that it will work for you tho..

Regarding "problem" no.2, you will no doubt find the program list in "All programs" is separated into two alphabetic lists as well.

Be careful not to get overly concerned with your computer for its own sake. Remember it is intended as a tool to do something with, not an end in itself to be looked at and admired - a sort of technological navel contemplation.

Yep, we all get that annoying yellow box hiding itself behind the taskbar. I understand it is a *known bug*.

Kinda answered my own questions. :D

1. Not sure exactly, still looking.

2. Because, some of the icons were in the "All Users/Desktop" folder and some were in "user/Desktop" Thus, making two seperate alphabetical lists! So they are right, but there is two seperate lists.

Known issue, or just windows flaw?
