doug
Thought I'd let you know about progress. The mountain bike has been a great success - not only for gentle training as it does take anything like the effort of running and you can freewheel down hill - in addition been able to accompany Anne on her Trike. She's loving getting the wind in her hair.Anyway, been doing a couple of 6 milers a week interspersed with exploring with the bike - in between chores like she now wants another herbaceous border stripped.Today did the first of extended runs. Along the C2C7 from Rickleton and down to the Bridle bridge at Cox Green (for any who know the area. The run back was a bit gruelling as it is up hill for a good kilometer (0.6 miles). wasn't a very fast run but the knees held out OK. Was goig to go up to King Coal. Had done a quick trip on Mon to check it out and the stretch past BOC was completely waterlogged. You'd think it had been raining or something. Hence today went on the C2C7 to Cox Green instead. Will have to extend the run progressively to the Wild Fowl park.Summaryout 3.65m 35'13 9.65 min/mile 3.3 ft/stridereturn 3.65m 40'58 11.22min/mile 2.95 ft/stridetotal 7.35m 76'11 10.43min/mile 3.11ft/stride 846.9 kcals burnt.Love to be able to get the spot heights for the ramp up from Cox Green to the flat bit on the run to the Biddick Art Centre.Don't forget anyone who wants to sponsor either post here or PM me. :blushing:
