Scarecrow Man
Older computer had windows 2000 installed, but it was having a lot of errors. So I backed everything up, and formatted and installed windows 98. Worked great, but needed some tinkering, as all windows installs do.I installed AV, firewall, and some drivers, did windows updates etc, and now I cannot see the CD-ROM in my computer.I have attached an image showing the cause of the problem. Anyone have a quick fix?I am looking for drivers now.http://english.aopen.com.tw/products/mb/ax6bc.htm

Agent Smith
Have you simply tried to remove the offending items from Device Manager, and see what happens after a reboot?Mr. M.
Scarecrow Man
SOLVEDYea I've done that, also removed all other PCI devices from inside the computer.I've fix it now though, your too slow. :P I re-installed windows, and installed each device seperatly, rebooting after each install. Thanks anyways :D

moon
Try going this route;Controlpanel/ Add-Remove/Windows setup tab/Internet/Details and see if Internet Connection Sharing is checked. I've also just had the CD drives blink off after a 98 install. The mobo (same chipset as yours) needed the drivers installed for the onboard sound in order to activate the CD-ROM controller- Dual Fifo. Scarecrow Man
Thanks. I've disconnected the computer, and am now using my work computer. I will try those suggestions out tonight, but this computer does not need the ICS anyways, so it's no big deal.
