Hardware problem

Recommended Posts

Older computer had windows 2000 installed, but it was having a lot of errors. So I backed everything up, and formatted and installed windows 98. Worked great, but needed some tinkering, as all windows installs do.

I installed AV, firewall, and some drivers, did windows updates etc, and now I cannot see the CD-ROM in my computer.

I have attached an image showing the cause of the problem. Anyone have a quick fix?

I am looking for drivers now.

Try going this route;

Controlpanel/ Add-Remove/Windows setup tab/Internet/Details and see if Internet Connection Sharing is checked.

I've also just had the CD drives blink off after a 98 install. The mobo (same chipset as yours) needed the drivers installed for the onboard sound in order to activate the CD-ROM controller- Dual Fifo.
