Tankus Posted July 19, 2004 Report Share Posted July 19, 2004 The Government is to give its approval to the £10 billion cross-London crossrail scheme as part of a 30-year transport strategy.Crossrail, which has been delayed for several years, will link Richmond, Kingston and Heathrow in south-west London to Shenfield and Ebbsfleet east of the capital about bloody time ...but where is the cash coming from..! Stop grumbling, you should be happy to pay out as much, if not more, than you can afford, to help to get this country, and its Wonderful Leader, out of the mess that he has created specially for us. Please be reassured that it will not all come out of your pocket. There are ar least half a dozen others who will be paying. The whole deal will probably be another of the Public/Private partnerships that are so popular because we can have the "glory" now, at greater expense than necessary, and then future generations of government will be saddled with mopping up the vast debt created by it all.
