Damo
I bought a Belkin Firewire card for my Sony Vaio laptop so I could plug my Ipod into it. After slotting it in and it installed I plugged my Ipod in but nothing happened (The Ipod Charges up through firewire) I then discovered that I need a mains adaptor for the firewire card so that the Ipod would charge up and work through the card!I'm feeling a bit ripped of because all over the box it said the card was compatible with Ipods and didn't metion anything about needing a mains adaptor. I only discovered that when I flicked through the instruction book for the card and in very small print on th 5th page it mentioned it!! £50 sodding quid for the card and now god knows how much for an adaptor!!!So...finally my question......Can i use a generic universal mains adaptor with the card or does it have to be a Belkin special doo daa????Has anyone else experienced this?Sorry for the rant!Damo
