Either way they would throw the coalition out.  Right ?

No. The coalition will not allow themselves to be 'thrown out'. They control the country just as tightly as Saddam ever did. The international community needs to stand up as a single voice and tell them to leave - checking their pockets on the way out :P

Sad thing is that this will happen again and again until such time as either China or the new Super Europe gets its act together and puts a leash on the USA. Bloody country is running around the globe like an oversized, maladjusted teenager. All brawn and no brain. Bad enough in itself, but really scary when it convinces others to join its gang.

America has been the recipient of world opinion, over the internet, for only three years or so. It will change from within and there is no requirement for another superpower to start clanging about.

PS. If Iraq asks the coalition to leave there is absolutely sod all they can do about it.

'they' being the coalition or Iraqis?

Why would they feel obliged to listen to the Iraqis. You suggesting that they may be worried about world opinion or somesuch should they refuse to leave?

:loldbz:

edit:

Many in the Arab world who have suffered at the hands of America and its allies would probably disagree.

Yep. The Americans have stated that they will leave if asked by any new Iraqi government. Most Americans don't want them there anyway. It would be political seppuku to stay.

And hey, let's not forget who it is that takes and kills hostages, blows up civilian airliners, captures ships, attacks Olympic villages, bombs trains, markets, nightclubs, offices and declares death to anyone caught in possession of a biro, an amputating society that disfigures its women and spends more time with its forehead on the floor than it does doing anything useful. They don't deserve to be classed as 'Arabs' so you shouldn't use the term when describing your plaintiffs.

Mandelson faces sleaze claim over free Caribbean holiday

From Anthony Browne in Brussels

PETER MANDELSON was at the centre of a new row over sleaze last night after it emerged that he attached a free Caribbean holiday to an official trip just months after his political comeback as a European commissioner.

Mr Mandelson, who resigned twice from Tony Blair’s Cabinet over allegations of sleaze, admitted that he took a free four-day holiday over the new year en route to an official engagement in the Caribbean.

He was forced to make a statement after details of his holiday were leaked, apparently by disgruntled European Commission officials, days after Brussels declared that no commissioner had accepted any improper hospitality.
