I'm trying to print up some A6 leaflets and want to print them on an A4 page then cut to size. There has got to be a simple way of doing this. Please, someone, tell me. :(

My Epson printer has the option to printer X pages to a sheet so if you can find something similar then you could tell it to do 4 to a sheet of A4 and you would have it sorted. Otherwise, as you will have found it can be a bit of a nightmare to get right.

If in word go to File/Print then alter to landscape Use a text box and size accordingly. Type the leaflet once then use Copy/paste to make three more images to the same page. Print as many copies as you wish. :unsure:

Thanks Dj. Have just been trying Sir Rad's suggestion with my HP printer and after a couple of goes it works nicely. At least it's uniform and I can now produce some unifoem copies. Thak you Sir Rad. :rolleyes:

Thats good doug. :) There is a way with word were you may have typed a page of A4 text and then decide you want to reduce it to fit 2-4-6 smaller copies to the one page. I only used the feature last week but can't find it now! Probably be up half the night looking for it! :lol:

Look forward to reading about it in the morning then. It's to help out with my current mugging exercise (Sponsorship requests). After the run last year and when I closed the account to hand the cheque to the hospital Anne suggested that I run off some thank you notes and cut them to size. This I did and posted them through all the doors of those who had sponsored me. She recently suggested I use the same notes when making this years requests. I've also got a more regimented approach, a separate sheet for every street I visit with all the house numbers on that I can tick or otherwise. It's working very well except the notes I produced weren't uniformly laid out on the A4 sheet and looks uneven. The few sheets I've just run off are looking much better. However, if you can point me in the "professional method" I would be obliged. :D

Found it doug, don't know why it took me so long as I was using it last week.

1) go to Page setup and select margins and reduce these all round to .5 or similar.

2) select Landscape.

3) click on the layout tab and look for the "Page, Vertical alignment window"

4) It will say "Top" change it to centre and OK your way out back to document.

5) File/Print and look to the lower right of the dialogue box for the option of "Pages per sheet" Set this to 4 [Don't alter the scaling settings in the window below].

6) In the same dialogue box choose how many copies you want and click OK and away you go.

Selecting 4 pages per sheet will give A6 size I think but you can select as many pages per sheet of A4 paper you wish.

[Edit] The above is assuming you have already typed the document and have it saved at A4 size.

Thanks for the late homework Dj. Still having a slight problem in that the individual pages are coming out at 10.5 x 14.5 with a 25 mm gap at the bottom of the page, when printing in portrait. When I set them uo to print in landscape at 4 to the page the layout seems to go doolally. There's something I'm not doing right. Hope this link works and shows the details. example

Why not use Avery Design Pro Lite?

This is a self contained program from Avery http://www.avery.co.uk/uk1/downloads/design2000.jsp which will do all manner of things.

Designed really for Avery products, you can use its facilities for all sorts of other things such as: if you select a label style J 8170, this is four labels to an A4 sheet. You do all the text, graphics and stuff on the template and the program goes on to print four copies per sheet. You can do sequential numbering and all sorts of stuff with it. All you have to do then is cut the sheet.

There are hundreds of labels and other things that it works on but best of all, it's FREE. You do need to register with Avery but that's no hardship.
