im getting very and i mean VERY annoyed , i get a Security Alert box (NIS 2004 pro) telling me Intruder: MS_Windows_LSASS_RPC_DS_Request 30-40 (sometimes more) times a day every day for the past 3 weeks. NIS is bringing down game windows to show me this and getting me killed :angry:

i have got the MS patch for this aswell , but its just annoying

I've written this before but, here goes again: NOTHING with the name of Norton or Symantec ever gets installed into any of my machines.

If your firewall or whatever is doing its job OK, well, it should do it quietly in the background. It should not be telling you ever time it stops anything and expect you to throw it a biscuit.

Get it out and use something better.

I didn't "reem" either, just stated my views on Norton products and made a simple suggestion that it be removed and replaced by something that doesn't want its hand holding every time it sees something it doesn't like.

Sorry, I will edit that post, I didn't mean to anger anyone..

I myself hate Symantec products, probably just as much as you do. I find them to be resource hogs, and require you to walk them through the things they should do themselves.

It just seemed like before my post, everyone was just telling Rebel to remove Norton, instead of giving a suggestion of how to fix.. Sorry if I've offended anyone :(

I must agree with Scarecrow Man here

I personally do not have an anti-virus programme on my PC

One a week i go to trend and use the house call to do a sweep of my PC

Now one virus found yet :D :D

p.s If you dont know what you are doing please use a firewall and a Anti-Virus programme

well ive had a qucik flick through the options but cant see a one that wont show me the alert boxes, im sure i done it in 2003, it made the little world in the tray just flash with a red !. I am useing Norton Internet Security 2004 Professional by the way

{EDIT}

found it :blushing: and im gonna stick up for my mate Mr Norton, i think these products are great , yeah some little niggles but all in all good stuff.... Symantec's European network operation centre is in a underground bomb proof bunker in the Wiltshire countryside B) and the people who work inside have fuel and water to survive for days if needed. so when the world ends you guys will have no updates for your AV products while i will .......... :P .............................. :unsure:
