Just as the village is about to get broadband they are capping it . It's no use shifting to another provider as they all use the BT backbone and are subservient to BT. What's to be done ? djohn Posted August 2, 2004 Report Share Posted August 2, 2004 Other broadband ISP's may use the BT line but they all have their own specifications/terms and conditions and believe me they can vary by as much as 150 KBPS in download speed. Zen is very good with no contract and no restrictions whatsoever. Have a look at the ADSL guide and compare Zen with any other 5 of your choice, they will be top of the list every time. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee :) Good news - Your exchange will have ADSL broadband by 24th November 2004, and our initial test indicates that it should be possible to provide ADSL broadband on this telephone line. Our initial test on your line suggests that you should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides up to 2Mbps download speed. If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable, and if so for what speed of service. While you're here, oh wise one, what am I going to need to get my four machines up on broadband. Also, can I put my four port ISDN modem to any good use ? It cost three hundred sodding quid.
