AlanHo Posted September 16, 2004 Report Share Posted September 16, 2004 This problem has really got me beat - and has become an obsession.Last week I scanned a clipping from a magazine (a photo of some equipment - a jpeg total size 130 KB) and sent it by Email to friend. He didn't receive it. I inserted the photo into the body of the HTML Email sent by Outlook. I am on telewest broadband, my friend is on BT openworld dial up and uses Outlook Express. I did not get a message to tell me the Email had not been delivered.He advised me that he had not received it, so I sent it again - this time as an attachment to the Email. He didn't receive it - I don't mean just the attachement I mean the whole Email message vanished into the ether.I then sent it again - this time with the picture inserted in the body and as an attachment - I also sent him, at the same time, a second Email with a holiday photo inserted in the body of the Email to determine whether he could receive Emails with graphics. He received the second Email but not the original.I then conscripted two other friends and sent all 3 of them both Emails. The other friends received both OK but my friend only received one of them again. The one with the scanned magazine image flatly refuses to arrive in his inbox - but other Emails with graphics seem OK.I know this seems ridiculous - but it it happening - and I am mystified why. jack_pearce Posted September 16, 2004 Report Share Posted September 16, 2004 Hmmm.... i've never came across this problem before. :blink:I think maybe your email is being blocked because of the .jpg attachment.I would recommend you get new email accounts. However - it does not explain why two Emails - both with jpeg images - are behaving differently. One gets delivered the other one doesn't.The zip idea is interesting - I will give that a go tomorrow. AlanHo Posted September 18, 2004 Author Report Share Posted September 18, 2004 Yesterday I sent 4 Emails to my friend - all at the same time.From my blueyonder account I sent - A message with the problem jpeg inserted in the message body.- A message with the problem jpeg zipped as an attachment- A message with a different jpeg inserted in the message bodyFrom my Hotmail account I repeated the same 3 messagesGuess what - just 5 messages arrived OK.
