madboy33 Posted September 30, 2004 Report Share Posted September 30, 2004 Hi allI have lost the abilty to create an .pdf within word, actually i have lost the ability to create a .pdf in adobe as well now.The tool bar in word has vanishedI have repaired adobe and unistalled and re-installed it.I have looked in view>toolbar and its just not thereAny ideas how to get the toolbar back guys? Last time I did an uninstall (V5) found something on Adobe's site about this.You haven't stopped macros from running have you? This also seems to have an impact. -pops- Posted October 1, 2004 Report Share Posted October 1, 2004 This may or may not be appropriate but I use Jaws PDF rather than Acrobat and the only normal indication of Jaws is in "Printers" where it appears as a virtual printer. To produce a pdf file one goes to "Print" and selects "Jaws pdf". The file is then converted to pdf format and placed where you have previously chosen. AlanHo Posted October 1, 2004 Report Share Posted October 1, 2004 MadboyI had a similar problem after I upgraded to Office 2003 and Adobe Acrobat 6. It was fine initially but after a computer freeze when I was using Word (but not Acrobat at the time) upon rebooting it was all screwed up and the toolbar had vanished. However, unlike you I was able to use Adobe on its own.I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe - but no joyI tried system restore - no joy.I tried all sorts of fiddling around - cannot remember it all now but eventually decided to get back to basics.I therefore uninstalled Office and Adobe - manually cleared out the register of all Office and Adobe entries (quite a long task) reinstalled everything and have been OK ever since.
