leaaaa Posted October 9, 2004 Report Share Posted October 9, 2004 i have a serious problem, i just bought a new sata hdd and i went to install it, stupid me though chose the wrong option and it erased the partitions that existed on the other sata hdd. I've not had much luck with this in the past though.. but then I haven't tried too hard either.What was your file system? cd108 Posted October 9, 2004 Report Share Posted October 9, 2004 Main thing to do is not to write to the disk again. as untill you begin writing new data all you have deleted is the file table. Then you can try and run a free recovey tool on the drive, if you goggle data recovery there a fair few to choose from. Heres an example http://www.bitmart.net/ if it all goes wrong you can try a professional data recovery company but 70 gb is gonna cost you a lot of money, it really all depends on how badly you want that data back. I cant recomend a specific product because ive never had to do this myself on a whole drive many many moons ago i recovered a few files on a win 98 system and i had mixed results.
