doug
Visiting a chum down in the wilds of Salisbury next week He has a laptop connected to NTL broadband. Details below just came in. He wants to use the PC away from the hard wire traped across his (wife's) kitchen. Will post what he's sent and will look forward to suggestions and implementation when I get there.John, the modem is marked ntl:home 200 Model No 08004EU. It will take an ethernet connection from whichever router we choose. The laptop is Sony Vaio model No PCG-GRT815E. Let me know if you require any further info. doug
Just to let you know. Safely arrived in the wilds of Salisbury on Mon. Thanks to Flybe. The router question was resolved by using a netgear router and a belkin plug-in to his laptop. All the cables are now neatly (big bundle) behind his big TV in the corner of the kitchen. I'm quietly surfin here in his dining room while he's watching the Newcasle match in the kitchen. The girls are chatting and watching anothe TV upstairs in the living room. Funny house this but the service has been out of this world. Back to normal tomorrow afternoon. HE HASN'T GOT A SPULL CHUCKER!
