djohn
Downloaded the new AVG 7. Installed/Setup using the default settings and all seems to be working fine except for the Verification message in "Outlook".Sending myself a test mail in "Express" displays the Scanned by..... But if I use Outlook 2003 The test mail comes through but without the message on show. It does include the message though, as an attachment that when clicked on opens in notepad.Have I missed a setting somewhere?
Boris
This version also doesn't seem to have the same avgse.exe file you could set up in your download manager to automatically scan your downloads when they'd finished ???Or have I just imagined that ? djohn
Hi Boris,The reference files say to load the exceptions as follows for XP firewall.AVG Free control centre (file avgcc exe)AVG Free edition for windows (file avgw exe)"avginet exe""avgecc exe"The first two where already in the exceptions window of XP's firewall and I was able to navigate to the AVG folder and add the "avginet exe" file but couldn't find the "avgecc exe" file.Found one very similar. "avgcc" but that one is already added as part of the Free control centre, [First line above] Haven't a clue where the avgecc exe is!

trackrat
I used to schedule the old one to do a full scan at 10pm every night.I cannot seem to do this in version seven, as it says only available in the pro version
djohn
Hi doug, yep! it works fine in Express, shows the full test by message. But if I use "Outlook 2003" it does not show at the bottom of the mail but as an attachment. Click on the attachment and the message comes up. Have a thread running in the other place and users of "Outlook" are not having the problem. :(
Boris
AVG7 Free FAQ 4.3 says :-Q - How can I set programs like WinZip, GetRight etc. to scan files used by them?A - Within the 3rd party program scanning options choose AVGW.EXE with /SE parameter (AVGW.EXE /SE) as internal anti-virus scanner. AVGW.EXE file is located in the AVG Free directory ? usually ?C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free? directory on your hard drive.http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/5487/lng/us/tpl/v5Anyone able to get this to work ??? - with 6 you used to be able to use avgse with no params specified
