Deleting registry key

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to uninstall The Sims 2 manually from Windows XP Home SP2 as described on www.thesims2.com. I am told to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click on SOFTWARE, click on Electronic Arts and delete The Sims 2. But when I click on "Electronic Arts" I get an error message saying that it's not possible to open Electronic Arts, that an error occured when the key was opened. I've even tried deleting "Electronic Arts" but I get an error saying that it's not possible since there's something wrong with it.

Is there any other way of deleting this key than through regedit?

I'd really like to fix this without having to re-install Windows XP.

Sorry for the delay.

I tried uninstalling, but it didn't work, the uninstaller wouldn't start. Neither did it work to uninstall from the list with installed programs in teh Control Panel. That is why I've tried to uninstall it manually.

Havn't tried Registrar Lite yet, I'll do that and post the results.
