Hard Drive Woes

Hurdy

Recommended Posts

My system crashed badly - rebooting gets me past the XP welcome screen then turns black.

Have tried doing a repair but it keeps saying that one of the setup CAB files hasn't been installed and stops.

Abit NF7S-v2

2X160gb RAID

Added an IDE drive and did a clean install of XP on that. Good news is that all my data is on the RAID and I can access it but I cannot boot up on it.

I need help.

Hi Nel

It's really bugging me.

The error message I keep getting is :-

"An error has been encountered that prevents setup from continuing.

One of the components that Windows need to continue setup could not be installed.

The system cannot find the path specified"

"Error

Installation failed: D:\I386\asms

The system cannot find the path specified"

It's as if when the PC reboots to continue the repair that it doesn't load the drivers for the CD Rom - like in a Safe boot-up.

How many DVDs needed to backup 160gb?
