Chris
Testicular cancer primarily affects young men in the 15 to 44 year old age group, where it is the most common cancer. Overall, testicular cancer is not very common. Each year, there are nearly 2,000 new cases in the UK. Testicular cancer responds particularly well to treatment, and over 9 in 10 patients are cured. The cancer develops from the cells within the testes. The testes are the two small oval-shaped organs on either side of the penis that produce and store sperm. They also provide the main source of the hormone testosterone, which is responsible for male sexual characteristics. If the cancer is not treated, cancer cells from the original site may break away and spread to nearby lymph nodes or, rarely, other organs.More | Here

Tony
I am sorry, but as good as the intentions may be, this is way off topic, why post it here?Tony

don't ask
Please remember to look out for your 'tops and bottoms' lads.
djohn
I think it was a brave decision of powerless to bring this subject to the attention of us all. Both men and women now talk openly about breast cancer - Testicular cancer is just as rampant among men but hardly ever mentioned. The more we can do to bring this to everyones attention, especially younger men who may still be embarrassed to talk about it, the better, so chaps don't be afraid to check yourselves often and do talk to your doctor if you have the slightest doubt.Lots of information can be obtained from the link Powerless has provided but to start you off, the best time to check is while your having a nice warm bath.
popeye
Nice reply Djohn.I was struggling with what to say to this as I am a surviver.I ignored tell tale signs for years and eventually at the age of 55 I ended up in hospital. Not with testicular cancer but Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. As Powerless said one thing leads to another, check yourselves lads and don't be embarrassed to go and see your Doctor. don't ask
Well said lads !Don't be an ostrich (like me) - do the necessary checks regularly.I think you will find that a lot of breast cancer patients found their 'irregularity' before their partner or mammogram/doctor's check up did.For goodness sake get to know your own body before you let someone else do it for you - as it is your body, then you are the one who knows what is normal for it and what is not.Love you all
Scarecrow Man
It's easier to fix if it's caught early.Yearly check-ups are a great idea.
