This country is getting dafter and dafter. It still leaves the problem of having to employ temporary staff and then let them go. Not so easy if you are a small specialist firm. How on earth can small company's afford to pay this money?Good newsI remember how we struggled to make ends meet when the wife had our first child and the interminable wait until the child was old enough for her to go back to work.I seam to remember the same comments about "How will small businesses afford to pay this" when the minimum wage was introduced! "There will be massive increases of un employed, employers will not be able to pay these rates"What happened nowt, the fat cats took a miniscule drop in income and the underpayed got a small increase. We too had a struggle, but there is NOT and never will be a bottomless pit. We have already lost most of our manufacturing industry to countries like China. I am not saying that we want that kind of society, but there are limits. If people want a family they should budget accordingly, and wait until they can afford it. We waited five years and got our home in order first. There is no discipline today. people want everything straight away, and go into massive debt to get it, and then want bailing out.
