ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I have ZoneAlarm sitting in my systray, and sometimes I see it furiously displaying "Traffic", but it doesn't give me any details. Sometimes when there is perfectly no activity on the computer (I know that Outlook is sometimes secretly talking to the Exchange Server).I would like to know what application is doing network communication; is there some monitoring app that shows me who is accessing the network? Chris
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtmlIf you've scanned with AV, Adaware and all that then don't be tooo concerned.Maybe open ZA and just double check what applications you have set to set to allow, block etc.
scuzzman
Another option - to truly see all traffichttp://www.ethereal.com/be prepared - this is a protocol analyzer (read packet sniffer) and will report EVERY TCP PACKET to you. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thanks for the replies and pointers. TCPView gave me a good idea what's going on on my system. Yes, there are lots of legitimate network accesses constantly being done.If you've scanned with AV, Adaware and all that then don't be tooo concerned.AV, Ad-aware, ZA -- all up-to-date. Not really concerned, just wondering what the hell is it doing all the time? Much more clear now.P.S. when downloading TCPView I found that I actually had an older version already installed. Just forgotten all about it...
