homecomputeraid Posted December 17, 2004 Report Share Posted December 17, 2004 Hi all,I've tried on several computers, on several networks, using several different browsers (IE, Firefox, Avant, and SlimBrowser), and very often I get www.yahoo.com not found, or a similar message. Does anyone else have intermittent problems connecting to Yahoo? Sometimes I connect successfully by typing Yahoo into the search of another search index or engine, then clicking on the top Yahoo link. If not, where's it die @? May wanna call RR as they may be having routing trouble like you said. Also, ping it and try putting the ip in your browser. Also might wanna try this: delete your C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (that's what it is on mine) file, and replace it with a new file called hosts (make sure there's no extension on it) with this information:127.0.0.1 Â Â Â localhostI would attach the file, but it will not allow me to attach a file without an extension :/THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUNDUpload failed. homecomputeraid Posted December 23, 2004 Author Report Share Posted December 23, 2004 Yes, I've tried rebooting, and releas/renew on IP. This seems to happen to me at work too. I can't ping or tracert right now through my PIX. No burning desire to do so. It does resolve the IP Address when I try to ping from inside the PIX though. (I'm always telling people to check DNS) :)DNS resolution is occuring properly for all other sites I'm aware of. It does appear to be working from work today. Maybe something on my PIX? I work at a library where we have an internal DNS server and if a website is inacessable, that's usually the problem :DEDIT: Yahoo.com, Yahoo.co.uk and Yahoo.ca work for me.
