ranger
switched of my pc last night with no problems tried to boot up just now but only get post beep and sound coming from floppy and this repeats like it is caught in a loop, the bios does not show and I can't get into it to check any settings. I have posted this in PCA as well, so far no fixes working, I have tried the following:cleared the cmos by using the jumpers.tried swapping memory around.tried a different graphics card.removed the floppy, got a series of 8 beeps when I did this. put a windows 2000 startup disk into floppy, got two rapid beeps when I did this. removed all ide cables and floppy from Motherboard, got a series of 8 beeps when I did this.removed battery for half hour and replacedthink the motherboard is goosed, but before I go back to maplin can anyone think of anything else to try

Paul
Well not being able to read a floppy is not a good sign, try removing your BIOS battery over night to be sure the CMOS has cleared.
