nellie2 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Share Posted December 22, 2004 I've been seeing this rather a lot round and about the net... so I thought you might want a bit of information for your 'just in case' file! :) C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications.This occurs when either autoexec.nt or config.nt are missing or corrupt. You can run this file for Windows XP: get it hereIt will replace autoexec.nt, config.nt, and command.com. Other methods: Copies of autoexec.nt/config.nt should be located in C:\WINDOWS\Repair in both Win2K and WinXP. You should also have a copy on your 2K/XP CD's in the i386 folder. Proper place for AUTOEXEC.NT, CONFIG.NT, and COMMAND.COM: (XP) - C:\WINDOWS\System32 (2K) - C:\WINNT\System32 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
